When a year comes to an end, it is natural to pause for a moment and look back. Twelve months full of experiences, lessons, challenges, and blessings are behind us. Not everything has been easy, and probably not everything has turned out as we expected. However, as believers, we recognize that even in the midst of difficulties, God has been present, sustaining and guiding us step by step.
Gratitude is a deeply biblical attitude. Scripture invites us again and again to give thanks in all things, not because everything is good, but because God is always good. As we close out this year, we give thanks for the achievements we have made, for the doors that have opened and for those that have closed, because we trust that God is at work even when we do not fully understand His ways.
We are thankful for life, for health, for family, for friends, for the church, and for every opportunity to grow in faith. We are also thankful for trials, because they have often been instruments to shape our character, strengthen our trust in God, and remind us that we depend on Him more than we imagine.
The new year is an invitation to walk with hope. We know that the future is not free from challenges, but we also know that God is already in it. Each new day is an opportunity to trust, to grow spiritually, and to move forward with the certainty that we are not walking alone.
As we begin this new year, may we do so with a grateful heart, renewed faith, and a sincere commitment to put God at the centre of our lives. We trust that He will continue to guide us, bless us, and fulfil His purpose in us.
With gratitude for the year that is ending and hope for the one that is beginning, we move forward, trusting in the One who makes all things new.
